From Landon

Happy Birthday to you sweetheart. I want to thank you for all the many wonderful years we have been together. You have certainly beena wonderful wife, friend and companion. I look forward many more enjoyable and happy years together with you.

I love you,
Landon

There wasn't a day, place, or time that I can ever remember when my Lola wasn't there for me. You have been an abundant source of support, love, and comfort all of my life. I wish words could express my deep love, affection, and pride that I have to you. All I can say is I love you, and am so thankful to have you as my Lola. May God bless you on this day. My birthday wish for you is to have a day where you are surrounded by love coming from all directions, near and far. To not have a worry in the world, and to not have to cook :-D
We love and miss you very much. We hope to visit you soon with your new Great Grandson!

Have a great day Lola!

Love Always,
Stephen, Taysha, and Braden

Birthday Greetings from Jonina

Happy Happy Birthday Lola!

First of all I would just like to thank you for calling us every once in a while. I know how hard it is for you. I know calling us reminds you of mom and makes you miss her more. But honestly lola, getting a call from you, hearing your voice and just talking with you gives me strength and joy. Though it reminds me of mom and the close relationship I had with her, it is also a joy to communicate with the person she loved the most--- you. Thank you for showing your love and care through this very difficult time in my life. Knowing that you were able to get through the death of a husband gives me hope that I will survive. Though the road to recovery may not be easy, with God's grace and strength I can make it. God has indeed blessed me richly by placing you in my life. Through you and the rest of the family I have come to realize how important it is for family to look out and care for each other.

I pray that this year God will turn your mourning into dancing and your sorrow into joy. I love you lola and wish I could hug and kiss you in person! Hope you have a wonderful birthday!

God hears our cries and in time will indeed heal our broken hearts. We have
so much to be thankful for and I am thankful for family who rallies around and
gives strength and courage in the midst of life's setbacks. Thanks Mom for being

Dear Lola

Happy birthday lola!! Thank you so much for being there when we needed family the most. You were one of the main reasons that kept my mother fighting your frequent phone calls encouraged her and I would like to thank you for that. You are everything a grandson could ask for. Hope you have a great birthday and may there be many more to come.

Love John

FROM SANDRA

Happy Birthday Mommy!

For your birthday this year, I would like to share the very words I shared to you and dad during my wedding 23 years ago. If you remember, we wove into our wedding ceremony an "Honoring of Parents" part. Here is what I shared on November 5, 1988:

"Dad and Mommy, thank you for making this wedding so memorable simply by your presence. I know it was quite a sacrifice on your part to make this event so special for Carlo and I- but that has always been your character, you have given and given of yourselves to us your children, often sacrificially.

In most of the major decisions in my life, like the choice of career which is missionary and now the choice of a lifetime partner, you have died to your own standards, your own desires, your own dreams for me just so I may get God's very best.

Your selflessness has made it easier for me to obey God's call for my life. But even more than that,
YOUR SELFLESSNESS HAS GIVEN ME A GLIMPSE OF GOD'S FACE. Thank you and I love you very much."

Mommy, this was true of you then, and it is true of you now. Through all these years, you have continued to amaze me with your heart to GIVE. I remember when we were in Cebu last April just before Vivien left, she had extra dollars and wanted you to have it, but what was your response?- “Give it to Sandra”. You don’t only know mom how I really cried…here you were, even out of your own need, you still gave to me; even at the height of our pain and grief over Marla’s death, you put others first.
Mom, you don’t know this but everytime you give to me, I really cry because I am just so blessed to have a mom, who never thinks of herself but of others.

You have impacted and continue to impact all of us with your selflessness, truly your selflessness has given us all a GLIMPSE OF GOD’S FACE.
